This year, COSCUP introduces the "Overseas Speaker Travel Sponsorship" program to match sponsors with speakers. Sponsors opting for the "Overseas Speaker Travel Sponsorship" package will have the opportunity to subsidize travel expenses for speakers.

Ideal For

  • Overseas speaker
    • An overseas speaker who has been invited to speak at COSCUP by a sponsoring company has opted for the "Overseas Speaker Travel Sponsorship" program
    • An overseas speaker who plans to participate as a speaker at COSCUP and seek sponsorship for travel expenses

About Travel Sponsorship

  1. If you are an overseas speaker seeking travel sponsorship, please apply before July 5. COSCUP will seek sponsors on behalf of the speaker.
  2. Please note that you had the flight ticket and booked the accommodation already and apply this program then.
  3. If sponsorship matching is unsuccessful, we regret to inform you that speaker travel sponsorship cannot be provided.
  4. After successfully approving the speaker travel sponsorship application and receiving the required documents from the speaker, payment will be made to the speaker within 2 months following the end of the COSCUP event.
  5. To apply for this program, a scanned copy of your passport must be provided (this information will not be used for purposes other than verification and related checks)
  6. COSCUP reserves the right to make final modifications, changes, interpretations, and cancellations of this program.

Travel Sponsorship Amounts

  • Different sponsorship amounts are depending on the speaker's location:
    • China, Hong Kong and Macao: USD 535 / per person
    • Oceania and Asia (excluding China, Hong Kong and Macao): USD 1,070 / per person
    • Africa: USD 1,600 / per person
    • Europe and North America: USD 2,140 / per person
    • Central and South America: USD 2,495 / per person

Travel Sponsorship Documents

  • Round-trip Airfare (Not a single one can be omitted)

      1. Boarding pass
      1. Flight ticket receipt

  • Accommodation (Not a single one can be omitted)

      1. Receipts from accommodation online platforms or Taiwan receipts of the hotel (with the tax ID number: 38552170)
      1. Proof of accommodation (You can ask the hotel to issue it)
  • About accommodation
    • We sincerely welcome you to entrust us with arranging accommodation during the event. If we handle the arrangements, we will also deal with the documentation for proof of accommodation and receipts, relieving you of this burden.

Reimbursement Procedure and Important Dates

  • March 31 ~ May 9: Submit COSCUP Call for Paper
  • June 9: Pass the COSCUP Call for Paper review. Confirm that you will physically join COSCUP. Please Fill the apply form.
  • June 9 ~ July 5: Apply for the travel sponsorship program for overseas speakers. Please choose the currency and write down your remittance information when applying. You cannot change the information after July 19.
  • The account which receives the payment must be your account.
  • The currency you can use:
    • USD
    • EUR
    • GBP
    • JPY
  • July 7: Overseas speaker travel sponsorship approved.
  • August 3 ~ August 4: Please visit the COSCUP Sponsorship Booth on the day of the event to submit your receipts. Failure to submit or missing receipts may result in the inability to pay.
  • October 28: We will transfer the payment to you within 2 months following the end of the COSCUP event.

Travel Sponsorship Payment Notes

  1. Due to international transfers, speakers may need to pay some of the transfer fees. As a result, the received amount may not match the applied sum. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
  2. Speakers will be responsible for covering these fees themselves if they provide incorrect account information, resulting in multiple transaction fees associated with payment.
  3. Suppose a speaker cannot attend due to uncontrollable circumstances such as war, weather conditions, or unforeseen accidents. In that case, COSCUP will determine the sponsorship funds to compensate for non-refundable ticket losses by case. Any remaining funds will be transferred to COSCUP.

    • 住宿單據：
      • 住宿線上平臺的收據，或是旅店的統一發票（需打 OCF 統編 38552170）
      • 住宿證明（可請旅店開立證明）
      • 上述兩項缺一不可
  • 依所在地的不同，有不同的贊助金額上限：
    • 港中澳：NTD 15,000 （USD 535） / 位
    • 大洋洲與亞洲（港中澳以外）：NTD 30,000 （USD 1,070） / 位
    • 非洲：NTD 45,000 (USD 1,600)/位
    • 歐洲與北美：NTD 60,000 （USD 2,140） / 位
    • 中南美洲：NTD 82,500 （USD 2,945） / 位
  • 補助金額取款方式：
    • 活動後轉帳提供
    • 收款帳戶須為申請人
    • 幣別確認
      • 申請表請款金額須勾選幣別及填入匯款資訊，且 2024/7/7 後無法更改
    • 可使用幣別
      • USD
      • EUR
      • GBP
      • JPY
    • 提供單據
      - 活動當天，找贊助組繳交單據。
      - 若無單據則無法完成請款。
      - 匯款作業會在 2 個月內完成。
      - 因跨國匯款，講者需吸收部分轉賬手續費，因此收款金可能不為申請金額，請見諒。
      - 若講者提供錯誤帳號資訊，造成支付款項衍生的各種手續費須由講者自行負擔。
  • 若講者因戰亂、天氣、意外事故等不可抗力因素，最終未能前來。大會將視情況決定贊助金是否用於補助講者無法退票損失，剩餘費用將轉至 COSCUP。

  1. 參與 COSCUP Call for paper
  2. 通過 COSCUP 審稿，並確認會前來參加 COSCUP
  3. 已經買好機票、已支付住宿費用
  4. 2024/6/14~2024/7/5 填寫表單：申請海外講者旅費補助。
  5. 海外講者旅費補助審核結果通知
  6. 活動當天找贊助組繳交單據

COSCUP 2018 CfP is open! Submit your proposal before May 25th, 2018.

Finally, the CfP of COSCUP 2018 is here ! (中文見下方) We have pleasure to work with GNOME.Asia Summit to have a joint conference this year, plus 16 Community Room tracks and special tracks hosted by the staff, makes COSCUP 2018 a 15-parallel-tracks conference -- wow! Thanks to all the community members to make it happen. We are looking for talks in several open-source related areas, please submit your proposal before May 25th, 2018 . After the review process from the coordinators, we will publish the full programme in early July. All the talks will possibly be recorded and the video clips will be released under CC:BY-SA 4.0 .
