Ways to join COSCUP 2023

Conference for Open Source Coders, Users & Promoters (COSCUP) is one of the largest open-source technology conferences in Taiwan, attracting thousands of participants every year and providing rich opportunities for sharing experiences and exchanging ideas. 

COSCUP 2023 will take place from July 29 to July 30 at NTUST, Taipei, Taiwan. This article summarizes a few ways you may be interested in participating in this fantastic year's event. 



👉 Attend as a participant

Anyone can participate in COSCUP as an attendee, and it's totally free! As a large-scale event like FOSDEM.org, no registration is required beforehand, you can just walk in and start your journey.

Participants can attend various sessions, talks, and workshops, learn about the latest open-source technology and trends, exchange experiences, and establish connections with other participants. Checkout:

For overseas participants:

  • Language: More than one hundred talks in English we have this year.
  • VISA: contact attendee@coscup.org for assistance. 
  • Accommodation: We don't have any specific recommendations for accommodation as the event is taking place in downtown Taipei, and it's easy to reach the venue via public transport from anywhere in the city within 30 minutes. You can explore various hotels on OTA platforms of your choice or try this one (without any warranty) if you're having difficulty deciding.

👉 Participate in the World of Open Source Global Spotlight 2023 Survey (closed)

You are not just an attendee this year! Take the survey before the end of June, and your contribution will be part of this worldwide open-source trend report, which will be revealed in the event this year.

👉 Become a speaker (closed)

If you are an expert or enthusiast in open-source technology, you can apply to become a speaker at COSCUP. COSCUP offers multiple tracks, including infrastructure, development, community, and more, allowing speakers to share knowledge and experience in different fields. 👉 Host a booth (closed)

If you are an organizer of an open-source community or support open-source as a company or organization, you can apply to become a booth host at COSCUP. Booth hosts can promote the theme of the open-source community or interact with participants and establish connections. Contact program@coscup.org (for communities) and sponsorship@coscup.org (for companies) if you have any questions. 


👉 Become a sponsor (closed)

If you are a company or organization, you can support COSCUP through sponsorship. Sponsors can receive different levels of benefits, such as opportunities to display company logos or customize promotional activities. Contact sponsorship@coscup.org if you have any questions. 


👉 Individual sponsorship

If you would like to support COSCUP, you can sponsor the conference as an individual. Individual sponsors can receive various benefits, such as COSCUP souvenirs, etc. Contact sponsorship@coscup.org if you have any questions. 




👉 Become a volunteer (closed)

COSCUP is entirely volunteer-driven. If you want to participate in the operation and organization of COSCUP, you can apply to become a volunteer. Volunteers can assist with various tasks at the conference, such as registering participants, maintaining venue orders, or assisting booth hosts, and receive appreciation and benefits from COSCUP. COSCUP 2025 Early Bird Call for Proposals

  If you are passionate about open culture and open-source technology, no matter where you are, we welcome you to join COSCUP 2025! We designed the Early Bird Program to give you more time to prepare your talk after acceptance and to help international speakers plan their trip to Taiwan. If you prefer to organize things early, this program is just for you. We look forward to welcoming you back to COSCUP, reconnecting with the community, and sharing your valuable experiences. About COSCUP COSCUP is an annual conference organized by the Taiwanese open-source community since 2006. COSCUP aims to provide a platform to connect Open Source coders, users, and promoters while promoting FLOSS within the annual conference. Early Guide to Joining COSCUP 2025 

(Updated: Feb 13) Many people in the community are excited to find out how to participate in COSCUP 2025. We’ll share more updates soon, but here’s what we can share so far!
