自介：過去十年間主導開發系統專案涵蓋公共無線網路，多媒體影音串流，近年來專注於網路儲存及相關應用開發，致力推動網路儲存成為開放的軟體開發平台。
摘要：
隨著近年來網路儲存 (NAS) 的硬體平台運算能力及擴充性不斷的向上提升，在儲存之外的各式各樣應用也逐漸受到重視，NAS 的 24x7 always on，always connected 的特性，使得許多原本仰賴伺服器的功能有了另一個穩定的平台可以執行。傳統的 NAS 使用封閉式的架構，使用者必須仰賴廠商提供各項功能的更新，無法自行加入個別所需之差異化功能，雖顧及了系統的穩定與安全，相對也使得使用者對於 NAS 的應用受限。宏普科技 (Thecus) 自 2006 年開始積極參與如 Debian，ARM Linux 各 Linux開源組織之平台移植工作，已成功配合完成數個NAS產品之 porting，然而除了複雜的系統移植工作之外，Thecus 亦提供了基於原本 Thecus NAS 儲存管理功能之外，使用者可以專注於開發應用程式的使用者模組 (Thecus user module) 架構，不需在底層的 I/O 與 RAID 功能上另外從頭開發。在此演講中，會針對 Thecus user module 的開發模式，以及現有的模組與 Wiki site 進行廣泛的介紹，期使參與者可以很容易的在 Thecus NAS 開放性平台上實現各式各樣充滿創意的功能。
